What is an EYESHADOW PRIMER and why do you need to use it????
To create this look for the lovely Claire I used an array of products from Bobbie Brown, Mac, Mally and Smashbox. During the makeover we discussed eyeshadow application, specifically how to prevent creasing and product loss. I introduced Claire to my No. 1 way to prevent eye makeup from melting and smudging, and now I going to share that information with you... Eyeshadow primer. (Scroll down for my review on the amazing Smashbox 24 hr primer!!)
An eyeshadow primer is a lightweight cream/emulsion that is applied as a base layer to prepare eyelids for eyeshadow application. It is usually a neutral colour or invisible on skin. A primer creates a barrier between your skin and makeup. It seals the oils of your skin away from eyeshadow for long lasting wear and provides protection against creasing and fading of your makeup. It can also help to make eyeshadow easier to blend.
Never put concealer or foundation on your eyelids as a base, it will cause your eye makeup to crease and end up making matters worse!
So here's the review.....
🌟Smashbox 24 hr Photofinish primer🌟
I am very impressed with this primer's ability to lock in eye shadow pigment, be that subtle or vibrant. This fabulous product is reliable and dries to a perfect matte finish every time. It evens out the skin tone on the eye lids and keeps eye shadow in place all day long. I can't imagine applying makeup without it, Smashbox 24hr photo finish primer is truly a great product, that in my opinion is worth every penny and should have a star role in every girls make up routine.
