I can't say how happy I am to have our poles from @lupitpole up and installed. It's been some time since I've danced freely around a pole. Thank you to @hairbyhannahslc For breaking them in with me, and having me a part of her #movementmonday. She reminds me to break out of my strict movement trainings and embrace moving that is wild, free, and without practice or destination. Reminding me of that medicine, and how essential it is to my overall well-being. For the full clip, check out our Facebook page. #moxymovement
#movementmagic #utahpole "#movementmonday says sloooooow down and Pole with #superfriendspotlight Angela Nelson. There are so many great things I could tell you about this Earth Angel, I love her dearly, but one of my biggest lessons through Angie is grace and strength in moving slow. My MO is moving like a high speed train, both in life and movement, trying to get There faster. But after two torn hamstrings, I was forced to slow down, and found that the juicy stuff was in the seemingly small movements, the drawn-out in-betweens. Watching this graceful creature move is one of the most beautiful things I've ever experienced. She is super knowledgeable and skilled in her craft and makes sure to teach you correct alignment so you don't hurt yourself.
You don't have to be super strong to start this aerial art, it will make you stronger! Also, skill is built through practice over time, so at first, you can just use the pole like a dance partner to lean on, like I do! So much fun, come play!! Weird side note: notice the light change in the room at the end when there is a knock at the door."
