S U B T L E
ˈsʌt(ə)l/ - adjective
1. So delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyse or describe.
2. Making use of clever and indirect methods to achieve something.
I have experienced the most profound love, happiness, joy, contentment AND the deepest healing through connecting with the subtle internal energy cultivated through a Qigong practice.
Unlike a beautiful yoga posture or glistening six-pack, the subtle (yet profound) energy cultivated through Qigong cannot be seen by the untrained eye and is difficult to describe. It is meant to be felt, to be experienced, it is definitely not a spectators sport!
It is an internal experience so delicate that, although I often wish I had have found Qigong earlier, there is no way I would have 'got it'. Subtle is definitely not a word I understood during my twenties! I sought out extremes, I ran A LOT, I stretched, I contorted AND my body didn't like it! (Surprise surprise ). By the time I was 30 I had 3 blown lumbar discs, one super dodgy knee and a hip that was constantly in pain (which happened from doing A LOT of yoga the WRONG way!) Discovering Qigong and the beautiful experience of tuning into the subtlety of my own inner life and the life around me has not only healed my physical body but also created a life for me that is colourful, peaceful, filled with love and a life that is deeply connected to all things.
The most beautiful thing is this is an experience available to anyone and EVERYONE - we just need to be prepared to slowdown, tune in, listen and connect.
